Germany winger Julian Brandt has signed a two-year contract extension with Bayer Leverkusen to 2021, the Bundesliga club said on Wednesday.
The 21-year-old, who is battling for a spot in Germany's World Cup squad, opted to stay despite interest from some of Europe's top teams.
Liverpool were reportedly interested in signing the pacy German but decided against a move to Anfield with Sadio Mane and Mohamed Salah occupying the wings at the Merseyside club.
Brandt has enjoyed a successful season for Leverkusen so far, scoring six times in the league and has set up his team-mates to score four times.
