Jose Mourinho only makes his job harder by hogging the headlines at Manchester United

For a man who complained earlier this week about always being the centre of attention, Jose Mourinho certainly has a funny way of keeping his head down.

Not for the first time, the colourful Portuguese coach found himself at odds with authority on Saturday, sat in the Old Trafford directors' box after being sent to the stands at half-time by referee Mark Clattenburg.

Messages appeared to be ferried hurriedly between Mourinho and the touchline for Rui Faria, the No 2 who was once said to have hidden a microphone under his woolly hat to stay in contact with his manager when Mourinho was banned from Chelsea's Champions League game against Bayern Munich in 2005.
