The Hammers were on the wrong end of a couple of contentious decisions in the loss to the Red Devils, much to the chagrin of the manager
Slaven Bilic accused Phil Jones of "making a meal" of the challenge that saw Sofiane Feghouli sent off, a decision he said killed West Ham's chances of beating Manchester United.
Feghouli, making his first Premier League start for the Hammers, was sent off after lunging into a 50-50 tackle with United defender Jones just 15 minutes into the contest at London Stadium.
West Ham fought valiantly with 10 men, but were ultimately undone by second-half goals from Juan Mata and Zlatan Ibrahimovic as the Red Devils made it six league wins in a row with a 2-0 victory.
