Jamie Vardy is set for a key role in Leicester’s survival shoot-out following the sacking of Brendan Rodgers.
The forward, one of the greatest players in the club’s history, has scored only once in the Premier League this season and has not started a league game since the 2-2 draw with Brighton on January 21.
But he is in strong contention for a return to the XI against Aston Villa on Tuesday under first-team coach Adam Sadler and goalkeeping coach Mike Stowell, who are in interim charge after Rodgers was axed.
