Newcastle United have rewarded star player Allan Saint-Maximin with a bumper new six-year deal that puts him among the club's highest earners.
Sportsmail broke the news on Wednesday morning that the winger was set to sign a new contract after he had demanded improved terms on the £45,000-a-week deal he agreed just 14 months ago.
Saint-Maximin felt that did not reflect his worth to the team - who have won just once without him in 15 Premier League games since his £16.5million arrival from Nice - but his new salary is in line with the likes of Jamaal Lascelles and Jonjo Shelvey, who earn around £70k-a-week basic.
