'It's a dire situation': Candice Warner says she's anxiously waiting for husband David to return home from Covid-ravaged India... and reveals worries for his mum Lorraine ahead of Mother's Day

David Warner remains stranded in India amid the nation's 'second wave' Covid crisis, after being dropped as the captain of his Indian Premier League team on Saturday.

And David's wife Candice has shared her fears for the beleaguered batsman, admitting she's counting down the days until he can come home.

'It is a dire situation in India and we're really looking forward to having him home safe as soon as he can get back,' the 36-year-old told The Daily Telegraph on Thursday.

But while the former Ironwoman remains calm despite India's escalating health crisis, the WAG admitted she's worried about how his mother Lorraine is coping.
