Although Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was a little reticent to discuss knocking Liverpool off their perch all over again Friday, he could at least reflect fondly on a famous FA Cup winner for Manchester United against the old enemy.
United go to Norwich City this evening aiming to take a step closer to lifting a trophy that Solskjaer hopes can act as a catalyst towards his team challenging Liverpool at the top of English football once more.
It is 21 years since the Norwegian’s late winner settled a dramatic fourth-round tie between the two clubs at Old Trafford, setting United on course for the Treble in 1999 and the first of his two FA Cup triumphs under Sir Alex Ferguson.
