Ireland experience will stand Man Utd youth captain in good stead, says O'Neill

Manchester United stand to benefit from Lee O’Connor’s inclusion in the senior Republic of Ireland squad, says Martin O’Neill.

The versatile 18-year-old, who can operate in midfield or defence, is an academy graduate held in high regard at Old Trafford.

He formed part of Jose Mourinho’s pre-season plans over the summer and is getting a first taste of international football this week.
