'Have a reality check and know your place': Rio Ferdinand tells Aston Villa manager Unai Emery to 'sit back down' after Manchester United ended Villa's unbeaten run with 1-0 win on Sunday

Rio Ferdinand has told Unai Emery to 'sit back down' after Manchester United ended Aston Villa's 10-game unbeaten run.

Emery has received much praise for the work he has done at Villa, with his side rising from the bottom half to now being in contention to secure a place in the Europa League - or possibly even higher.

However, Villa suffered a 1-0 defeat against United at Old Trafford on Sunday, with Bruno Fernandes scoring the only goal in the 39th minute.

United legend Ferdinand was delighted with the result and was not afraid to make his feelings known in the aftermath.
