Fulham boss Marco Silva brands Calvin Bassey's sending off against Arsenal a 'joke' in criticism of new time-wasting regulations in the Premier League... as he believes rules protect the 'big clubs'

Fulham manager Marco Silva believes the league’s clampdown on timewasting is protecting the ‘big clubs’ as he branded Calvin Bassey’s sending off a ‘joke’.

Defender Bassey received a yellow card by referee Paul Tierney after being adjudged for taking too long at a goal-kick. He was dismissed for a second caution, blocking Eddie Nketiah at a counter-attack.

It follows a drive by the league to enforce new rules on time management this season.

Silva said: ‘The first yellow card for Calvin is a joke, and of course we understand the new circumstances (rules).
