From lean defender to heavy contender: Rio Ferdinand will aim to cut down to cruiserweight as he shapes up after Manchester United

Rio Ferdinand has showcased his extraordinary physique and the transformation of his body since retiring from football two years ago.

His muscular strength is best illustrated by his personal trainer Mel Deane's revelation that Ferdinand can bench press a massive 130kg in a one-off burst.

The 38-year-old currently weighs 92kg, which is 10kg more than when he was playing for Manchester United and England.
