Frank Lampard believes he has learned nothing new about coaching during his starcrossed second stint at Chelsea, admitting as much after the Blues' 4-1 drubbing at the hands of Manchester United on Thursday evening.
The club legend was drafted in as interim head coach after Graham Potter was sacked by co-controlling owner Todd Boehly in April, their tenures separated by the one-game appointment of Potter's former assistant Bruno Saltor.
Lampard has been under no illusion of the permanence of his position but his stewardship has given Chelsea's hierarchy few reasons to hang onto the former Everton manager, with the side recording one win in ten matches across all competitions since his appointment.
