Former Liverpool manager Roy Evans: England and Wales will go to war over talented teen Ben Woodward

Roy Evans, Liverpool's former manager, has predicted 'a war' between England and Wales to secure Ben Woodburn's allegiances.

Woodburn is currently in the Welsh youth set up and has been since he was selected for The Victory Shield squad in 2014. He is eligible to play for Wales through his grandparents.

The 17-year-old, though, was born in Nottingham and his progress has been noted by The Football Association, who always monitor the players who are eligible to represent them.

Evans said: 'You have got to jump in there, whether you are Chris Coleman or Gareth Southgate, so it will be a little war.
