Former Arsenal academy director Liam Brady reveals Tottenham star Harry Kane was released as a boy because he was 'chubby and not athletic'

Harry Kane was rejected by Arsenal because he was 'chubby and not very athletic', according to former Gunners academy director Liam Brady.

The Tottenham striker was released by Arsenal at the age of eight but has gone on to reach dazzling heights for their rivals. He has scored 101 goals in the Premier League and his latest was the winner in the north London derby on Saturday.

Brady spent nine years with Arsenal as a player between 1971 and 1980 and was then hired as director of the Arsenal academy between 1996 and 2014.
