Football is about as essential to a Great British Christmas as mince pies or an exceedingly expensive John Lewis advert. While many of our European counterparts have long since decided to give themselves the festive period off, the footballing schedule has continued to churn on these shores to entertain us as we stuff ourselves silly.
This year will be no different with Premier League fixtures scheduled to take place every day from Boxing Day to Wednesday January 4 except one. In total, 30 top-flight games will be contested in the space of 11 days with some teams having as little as 44 hours between matches.
