Pep Guardiola says he accepts that Manchester City will not be considered one of the all-time great sides until they win the Champions League.
City wrapped up an unprecedented domestic Treble of the Premier League, FA Cup and League Cup last in May, adding to the record-breaking league title they won the previous year.
But they were knocked out of the Champions League in the last eight by Tottenham following a mazy two-legged tie that they eventually lost on away goals – the third time that they have failed to go beyond that stage since Guardiola took charge in 2016.
