Simulation — or diving — is one of the most serious blights on our game and so news that the FA has approved retrospective two-game bans from next season must be seen as a positive, welcome move.

Football appears to be dragging itself into the 21st century as, increasingly, the use of technology is approved.

First the now universally accepted 'goal-line technology' and now this attack on the cheats.
