Rangers have agreed a deal to sign Wolves forward Fabio Silva on loan for the rest of the season.
However, despite flashes of the ability that persuaded the Premier League club to invest in the youngster, he has failed to make a significant impact.
Silva, 21, is now set to become Philippe Clement's first Rangers signing when the January window opens.
Manager Clement, who replaced the sacked Michael Beale in October, has lost Danilo to long-term injury and fellow striker Kemar Roofe is also beset by fitness troubles.
Silva will bolster Clement's attacking options as Rangers - currently five points adrift with two games in hand - look to rein in Scottish Premiership leaders Celtic and progress beyond the Europa League last 16.
