Canada international Scott Arfield is on the brink of joining MLS outfit Charlotte FC.
Mail Sport understands the midfielder, who left Rangers at the end of last season, has agreed a two year deal to join the North Carolina side.
He is expected to fly to the USA over the weekend to undergo a medical and complete the formalities of his move.
The 34-year-old left the Glasgow club after his contract expired following five years with the Ibrox club, helping them win the league title in 2021.
Arfield also has extensive Premier League experience with Burnley, playing a key role under Sean Dyche during a five year spell at Turf Moor.
