Everton winger Aaron Lennon is receiving treatment for "a stress-related illness' after being detained under the Mental Health Act.
The 30-year-old England international was detained by police on Sunday before being taken to hospital and Everton have confirmed that the player is now receiving care.
A spokesman for Greater Manchester Police said: “Police were called at around 4.35pm on Sunday, April 30, 2017 to reports of a concern for the welfare of a man on Eccles Old Road.
