Everton winger Lennon suffering 'stress-related illness'

The Toffees have confirmed that the England international has been taken into care and that they are supporting him

Everton winger Aaron Lennon is receiving treatment for "a stress-related illness' after being detained under the Mental Health Act.

The 30-year-old England international was detained by police on Sunday before being taken to hospital and Everton have confirmed that the player is now receiving care.

A spokesman for Greater Manchester Police said: “Police were called at around 4.35pm on Sunday, April 30, 2017 to reports of a concern for the welfare of a man on Eccles Old Road.
