Enugu Rangers have climbed to the top of the Nigeria Professional Football League Group A table after they defeated Kwara United in Ilorin in a rearranged league tie played on Wednesday.
The Flying Antelopes have accumulated league matches because of their involvement in the Caf Confederation Cup where they got to the group stage before they were eliminated and unlike others in the top-flight that have their league games at weekends; Rangers are using the midweek to clear some of their outstanding games.
Gbenga Ogunbote’s men faced Kwara United at the Kwara Sports Complex, Ilorin and they were able to hand the Harmony Warriors their first home defeat of the season after they scored two quick first-half goals through Ifeanyi George and Godwin Aguda in the 25th and 28th minutes while the hosts determination to stage a comeback only yielded a consolation goal in the second-half through Ebenezer Odeyemi in the 65th minute.
