England's Sam Curran becomes the most expensive buy at the IPL auction EVER after Punjab Kings pay £1.9m, while Ben Stokes commands £1.6m and Harry Brook goes for over £1.3m... but Joe Root is unsold

England's Sam Curran has become the most expensive player in the history of the Indian Premier League auction after the Punjab Kings bid £1.9million for him.

Test captain Ben Stokes was bought by the Chennai Super Kings for around £1.62m.

Batter Harry Brook sold for over £1.3m after Sunrisers Hyderabad out-bid Rajasthan Royals and Royal Challengers Bangalore for the Yorkshire star.

Former England captain Joe Root went unsold, however, despite a base price of just £100,000.
