Plans for England to play India in the United Arab Emirates this winter have been shelved with both Test and limited-overs series now set to be on Indian soil.
Although there remains the slightest of possibilities that a deterioration in the Covid-19 situation in the new year could see things reassessed, talks between the ECB and their Indian counterparts are now fully focused on a full bilateral tour.
In addition to taking the matches to the UAE - where the Board of Control for Cricket In India moved the Indian Premier League earlier this winter - there was also an option of England being based in one region or city for a full Test series, with matches being played at multiple stadia within a reasonable drive.
