Harry Brook has withdrawn from the upcoming Indian Premier League to spend time with his family following the death of his grandmother Pauline.
Yorkshire batsman Brook, 25, pulled out of England’s tour of India in January and headed for home rather than Hyderabad from the training camp in Abu Dhabi when he was informed that she was terminally ill.
Posting on social media yesterday, he explained recent events: ‘I lost my grandmother last month – she was a rock to me, and I spent a huge amount of my childhood in her home; my attitude to life, and love for cricket was shaped by her and my late grandfather.
