Tributes have flooded in from across the footballing world after Steven Gerrard announced his retirement from the game on Thursday.

Despite the almost universal positivity from ex-team mates and rivals, it has not stopped Liverpool flop El-Hadji Diouf sticking the knife in.

The Senegalese, who is the only No 9 in Liverpool history to go an entire season without scoring a goal, has reignited his war of words with the former England captain.
