Atletico Madrid were simply not up to the task as they fall 2-0 to Eibar in Ipurua, failing to mount a comeback after what proved to be Burgos’ 10th minute winner, before Exposito put the match beyond doubt with a late second following a poorly cleared corner. There was a real lack of creativity in the visiting XI, as Joao Felix and Morata were left isolated at the top of the pitch, as the rest of the team laboured to move up into attacking areas for support. The physically dominant Atleti were kept under control during set-pieces, with Thomas’ poor deliveries from corners doing them no amount of good either.
