Eddie Howe hit back at Erik ten Hag's 'nonsense' time-wasting claims after his Newcastle United side leapfrogged Manchester United into third place in the Premier League.
Goals by Joe Willock and Callum Wilson earned a richly deserved 2-0 win at St James' Park on Sunday afternoon to boost Newcastle's chances of qualifying for the Champions League.
It also afforded a measure of revenge for Newcastle's defeat by the same scoreline in the Carabao Cup final at Wembley in February.
Prior to that game, Ten Hag had labelled Howe's side 'annoying' and accused them of deliberately running the clock down during the teams' goalless draw at Old Trafford back in October.
