Gokulam Kerala sealed their spot in the Durand Cup final after beating East Bengal 3-2 in tiebreakers after the two teams were locked in a 1-1 scoreline after extra-time at the Salt Lake Stadium in Kolkata on Wednesday afternoon.
East Bengal struck first through Samad Mallick but a late strike from Marcus Joseph from the spot ensured that the match went on to be played for a further 30 minutes. The two sides were inseparable after extra-time but Ubaid's heroics under the sticks to deny Jaime Colado and Tondomba Singh ensured that Gokulam Kerala sailed on to the finals.
