It's fair to say David Beckham has found things more difficult than first expected when it comes to launching his own football club in Miami, but it seems as if there may finally be light at the end of the tunnel.
It was with great fanfare, from both the Beckham camp and the MLS, that the new franchise was announced on February 5, 2014 after the England international exercised an option granted to him upon his move to LA Galaxy in 2007, allowing him to launch a club for the cut-price sum of $25million (£20.2m).
But since then the former England international has encountered problems with investment and with a planned new stadium in the city, which have seen he and his team leapfrogged by two new franchises and look set to push the club's first season back to 2019.
