Crystal Palace's Connor Wickham undergoes successful surgery after suffering cruciate knee ligament injury and assures fans: 'I'll be back'

Connor Wickham has had successful surgery after injuring his cruciate knee ligament which will keep him out of action for the rest of the season.

The Crystal Palace forward posted an image from his hospital bed giving the thumbs up and assured fans he will be back.

Wickham said via Instagram: 'Op successful so now the road to recovery begins now! Thank you so much for all support and messages it really means a lot! I will Be back!'
