Christian Eriksen insists 'there was more chance to fail than succeed' if he joined Chelsea as a teenager

Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Christian Eriksen admits he had more chance of failing than succeeding if he joined Chelsea as a teenager.

Eriksen's representative, Martin Schoots, revealed in the summer that the Danish international rejected some of the big clubs in world football, including Chelsea, Barcelona and AC Milan before he moved to Ajax as a 16-year-old.

The 24-year-old enjoyed three seasons at the Dutch giants before moving to Tottenham for £11.5m in 2013.
