Chelsea managing director Purslow steps down

The man in charge of the Blues' commercial operations during a hugely successful period for the club is to leave his role after just two years

Chelsea have announced that managing director Christian Purslow is to leave his post.

Purslow, who previously filled a similar role at Liverpool, is walking away after a little over two years in the position.

During that time he has overseen commercial operations during a hugely successful period for the Blues.

Purslow was part of the negotiations that saw Chelsea lad a £60 million-a-year kit deal with Nike that is due to start in 2017-18 and a £40m-a-year sponsorship agreement with Yokohama.
