Chelsea managing director Christian Purslow is leaving his post after just two years in the role.
Purslow, former managing director of Liverpool, was in charge of Chelsea's commercial operation during a highly successful period that included the signing of a £60m-a-year kit supply deal with Nike that starts next season and a £40m-a-year shirt sponsorship with Yokahoma.
The club announced Purslow's departure on Friday night and the football executive said that Chelsea's press release was 'self-explanatory.'
However Purslow has a very abrasive character that rubbed off on some members of the board and the mega commercial deals achieved on his watch were very much a Stamford Bridge team effort.
