Chelsea are plotting a £6.9million swoop for former Nottingham Forest centre-back Anel Ahmedhodzic, according to reports linking the Malmo defender with a return to England.
The imposing 21-year-old made just one brief substitute appearance for Forest but his reputation has grown since he rejoined his hometown club in January 2019.
Chelsea's defensive record has improved markedly with the arrival of defenders Thiago Silva and Ben Chilwell alongside the impressive form of new goalkeeper Edouard Mendy.
Boss Frank Lampard is said to be ready to continue to add to his options and invest in youth, with Expressen claiming that Chelsea want to offer Ahmedhodzic a five-year deal.
