Chelsea hold Cavani talks with PSG but no bid for wantaway striker

Chelsea have discussed Edinson Cavani’s future with Paris Saint-Germain, but they have stopped short of making an official offer for the striker.

Claude Makelele, who is a technical mentor to Chelsea's young players, travelled to France to meet PSG over the signing of 17-year-old Kays Ruiz-Atil and discussed Cavani during the trip.

Blues manager Frank Lampard has publicly stated his admiration for the 32-year-old, who has handed in a transfer request at the Parc des Princes to try to force a move during the January transfer window.
