Chelsea’s managerial situation is shrouded in confusion after Mauricio Pochettino on Friday admitted he does not know if he will be sacked at the end of this season – but did reveal for the first time that he could walk away himself.
It was a remarkable press conference for a club in good form, having lost only one of their last 12 Premier League games to leave themselves with realistic chance of securing European football as they travel to Nottingham Forest on Saturday.
Pochettino reminded the club’s hierarchy Friday that Chelsea’s problems predate his arrival, saying they cannot blame him for failing to win the Champions League this season because they failed to qualify before he was even here.
