Championship clubs have targeted a return to action on Saturday, June 20, according to the Daily Express.
And that could mean they could return before the Premier League, with top-flight managers seeking a full month's training before resuming matches.
EFL clubs need to finish by July 31 as that is when up to 40 per cent of players' contracts are due to expire.
Clubs have agreed to rush through the remaining nine games of the programme in five Saturdays and four mid-week slots to finish on July 18 – leaving just enough time to complete the play-offs.
