Championship assessing feasibility of restarting season BEFORE the Premier League as the EFL 'aim for a June 6 comeback' following crunch talks

The Championship is reportedly targeting a return to action before the Premier League with the EFL close to finalising plans to restart the season on June 6.

Discussions between the Premier League, its 20 clubs and the Government over 'Project Restart' are still ongoing with no clear outline of when the top-flight will be able to resume, with concerns over whether it can meet its preferred date of June 12.

UEFA recently imposed a deadline of May 25 for European leagues to confirm whether or not their seasons will be cancelled or restarted.
