Celtic are set for a £5million windfall as Manchester City plot a £50m swoop for former Parkhead defender Virgil van Dijk.
The Scottish champions insisted on a 10 per cent sell-on clause in the Dutch defender's contract when they sold him to Southampton last year for £13m.
Since then he has gone on to sparkle in England's top flight and become a target for the biggest clubs both in the Premier League and on the continent with Paris Saint-Germain and Liverpool chasing his signature.
Yet City look set to win the race as Pep Guardiola desperately attempts to fix a defence that has looked shaky all season.
