He will be honoured with a testimonial match at the end of the season, but could it be the midfielder's last at Old Trafford?
Michael Carrick is worthy of a new contract to extend his stay at Manchester United into a 12th season, according to club legend Bryan Robson.
Carrick will turn 36 before the start of the 2017-18 campaign and will in June be honoured with a testimonial, having moved to Old Trafford from Tottenham in 2006.
But Robson, who won two Premier League titles with United, believes Carrick would still have plenty to offer Jose Mourinho's side if he is afforded an extended stay.
