The Nigeria international will now serve a two-game ban for a sending off Wolverhampton Wanderers branded as “excessive”
Carl Ikeme’s three-match suspension for a crude challenge on Norwich City midfielder Wes Hoolahan has been reduced to two games on appeal.
The goalkeeper was sent off in a 3-1 Championship defeat to the Canaries after fouling the Ireland international in the penalty area, before pushing him on the chest at Carrow Road.
Wolverhampton Wanderers described the punishment as excessive and the Football Association independent regulatory commission rejected the club's claim of wrongful dismissal, and settled on a two-game suspension.
