Guinea have won the West African Football Union plate competition, after defeating Cape Verde 4-3 on penalties on Saturday.
The encounter ended in a goalless draw at the of 120 minutes and the Syli Nationale came out victorious at the end of the shoot-out, thanks to goalkeeper Sokouba Camara's brilliance in goal.
The first 45 minutes was an even dominance between both teams and they had several shots on target to break the deadlock at the Stade Lat Dior.
Aires Fernandes nearly fired Cape Verde ahead in the 22nd minute after benefitting from a sloppy defensive pass from Ibrahima Doumbouya but Camara produced a brilliant save to deny him.
