Alan Shearer fumed at former referee Dermot Gallagher on Sunday following VAR's crucial intervention early on in the game between Newcastle and Arsenal.
Referee Chris Kavanagh pointed to the spot just seven minutes into the game after Bruno Guimaraes' shot appeared to strike the arm of Arsenal defender Jakub Kiwior.
However, on closer inspection it appeared the ball struck the thigh of the Poland international. Kavanagh was instructed to go to the pitch-side monitor to reassess his decision and upon second viewing he decided to reverse his original call.
On punditry duty for Premier League Productions, Shearer was incredulous at the decision, with his abundantly clear frustration coming through as he grilled Gallagher about the overturning of the original decision.
