Bristol City forward Famara Diedhiou will serve a six-match ban for spitting at an opponent during a Championship game.
The 25-year-old was found to have breached the FA Regulatory Commission rule while turning out for his club in their 3-1 win over Birmingham City on April 10.
The incident which happened at the Ashton Gate Stadium went unpunished by referee Geoff Eltringham.
But in a retrospective manner. Diedhiou has been penalised and is set to start the ban when the 2018-18 season commences.
However, the Robins who finished the Championship season in the 11th place have stood by their record signing and are set to take the option of appealing the FA's decision.
