Brighton and Hove Albion have confirmed that midfielder Enock Mwepu is undergoing 'precautionary checks' in hospital, amid reports that the Zambian had collapsed with a suspected heart attack.
The Seagulls appointed Mwepu as their Under-9s academy coach in December, two months after he was forced to retire from professional football aged 24 due to a heart condition.
The club released a statement on Sunday 'in response to media reports', which claimed Mwepu had been rushed to hospital following a collapse.
