Brentford are closing in on the signing of Freiburg forward Kevin Schade in a deal which could reach £22million.
The day after stunning Liverpool 3-1, the Bees have agreed a six-month loan deal for the young winger, which will become an obligation to buy if he achieves certain add-ons relating to his performance (for example goals or assists).
And if those clauses are met and Brentford are required to buy Schade, they will be spending £22m to make the transfer permanent.
German age-grade international Schade, a long-term target for the club, who tried to sign him last summer, is flying to London on Tuesday to complete a medical with the Premier League outfit.
