Brentford 'are confident of extending Christian Eriksen's contract beyond this summer' but expect the midfielder to wait to make a decision as the Bees look to seal Premier League safety

Brentford are confident they will agree to extend Christian Eriksen's contract beyond this summer, according to reports.

The 30-year-old made a triumphant return to football in January when he signed a six-month contract with Brentford after suffering a heart attack while representing Denmark at last summer’s European Championships.

The midfielder was forced to leave Inter Milan as he was unable to play in Italy with a heart defibrillator but has since made three appearances for Brentford.
