Brentford had there hearts broken late on by Darwin Nunez's stoppage time double salvo on Saturday afternoon.
Arne Slot's side were looking down the barrel of just a single point for the third consecutive top-flight match before super-sub Nunez came to the rescue in added time.
The Uruguay forward struck twice in two minutes to seal all three points for the Reds as they consolidate their position at the top of the table, with Arsenal playing later on Saturday evening.
