Borussia Dortmund have reportedly given up the fight to keep star winger Jadon Sancho and have lowered their asking price, putting Chelsea and Manchester United on red alert.
Dortmund demanded a fee of £108million during the summer window last year, but United failed to stump up what they wanted as their long pursuit ended in Sancho staying in Germany.
But the financial impact of the coronavirus pandemic means the German side have been forced to reconsider their stance and will now accept £88m for the 20-year-old.
Dortmund are facing a loss of up to £65m this financial year, before factoring in the cost of potentially missing out on the Champions League and sacking manager Lucien Favre, replaced by interim boss Edin Terzic until the end of the season.
