Cricket Australia has injected some much needed life into the T20 Big Bash League, introducing an overseas player draft similar to the Indian Premier League to attract elite superstars on 'globally competitive rates'.
BBL clubs will be able to recruit up to three primary overseas players, with nominations formally opening on Wednesday.
CA has confirmed the draft will take place over the next few months, well ahead of the first games in December.
'The BBL has a long history of bringing the biggest names to Australia and we expect it to be an even more attractive proposition with the introduction of the draft,' BBL player acquisition consultant Trent Woodhill said in a statement.
